Compensation of Rs 10 lakh, fine of Rs 1 lakh
Makwanpur district court sentenced a young man to 35 years of imprisonment for killing his sister-in-law and plotting to kill his brother. The court has ordered the victim to pay a compensation amount of 10 lakh rupees to the deceased sister-in-law's rightful owner.
District Court Makwanpur Judge Avni Mainali Bhattarai's bench on Thursday pronounced the verdict by holding that 22-year-old Rahul Das of Hetaunda Sub-Metropolitan City-1 Chowkitol killed his 35-year-old sister-in-law Gudiya Das of Hetaunda Sub-Metropolitan City-1 Chowkitol who lived in the same house and attempted to kill his brother-in-law Rupesh Das, 28 years old.
25 years in prison for murdering sister-in-law and 10 years in prison for attempting to kill brother-in-law and a total of 35 years in prison, said District Court Makwanpur Information Officer Keshavraj Kaushik. The court ordered the victim to pay Rs 10 lakh as compensation to the next of kin of the deceased. A fine of one lakh rupees has also been imposed. The court has also ordered to provide proper medical expenses for the injured brother. Rahul Bhimfedi, who was sentenced to 35 years imprisonment by the court, is in prison.
Rahul killed his sister-in-law who was sleeping in the room on March 12th. After killing his sister-in-law, Rahul had seriously injured Rupesh's brother-in-law by stabbing him in the neck and various parts of his body with the intention of killing him.
Brother-in-law Rahul Das, a drug user, was being talked to by his sister-in-law Gudiya not to take drugs. Rahul killed him in that attack. Her brother-in-law Rupesh was also pressuring her not to take drugs.
The eldest of the three brothers, Roshan Das (husband of the deceased) had gone to Qatar five months ago for employment. Dolly, a mother of three children, was killed by Rahul in her room with a knife and covered with silk. Then he attacked his brother Rupesh.
