52-year-old Sanishchara Darai, who went to cut grass in the central community forest of Chitwan National Park, died on Thursday morning when a rhino attacked him.
Conservation officer Avinash Thapa Magar, who is the information officer of the park office, belongs to Rapti municipality-6 Syauli tol.
Sanishchara was attacked by a rhinoceros when he went to cut grass in Bhasamadi lower lake area of Rapti Ekta Central Community Forest Khagendramalli of Chitwan Park Navaraj Pathak, Chairman of Intermediate Consumer Committee said. He died on the spot. He was attacked by a rhino around 6 am. He also said that there were hosiery, an empty sack and a bunch of grass at the scene. "The incident happened in the morning when I went to mow the grass," said President Pathak.
The park administration has appealed to be careful in the area where wild animals roam. Between 5 and 25 people die every year due to attacks by wild animals such as tigers, rhinos, wild elephants, wild boars, and crocodiles in the central area of Chitwan National Park, which is connected to four districts.
