The secret of theft of old goods (garbage) of Hetaunda cement industry from the contractor side has been revealed. The government-owned cement industry located in Hetaunda-9 auctioned the old rope-way used for transporting limestone and awarded the contract to Shree PS & Sons Enterprises, located in Lippanimal, Bara, for Rs.

According to the labor organization active in the industry, the contractor has stolen everything from the transformer to the old dumper vehicle against the agreement with the industry.

'Ropeway goods worth around 15 crores have been sold for 40 crores. During the sale of the ropeway, the contractors have stolen dumpers, junks and more iron than the contract, which is located near the Chamena house of Bhainse Mine,' said the labor organizations in a press conference in Hetaunda, 'a 630 kVA transformer worth lakhs was stolen from the Bhainse Mine. Transformers have been brought back after protests everywhere. It is said that the contractor took the transformer from other places as well. There has been no investigation from anywhere.

Hareram Acharya, information officer of the industry, has informed that an agreement was reached with the contractor on January 7 regarding the sale of the ropeway. According to the agreement that the entire payment should be made in three installments, the industry has received 1 crore 42 lakh 68 thousand 694 rupees for the first installment. It has been agreed with the industry that the rope-way buyer should raise the entire structure within 9 months of the contract.

Hareram Acharya, a senior officer of the mining division of the industry, wrote a letter to the Makwanpur District Police Office for investigation, but there was no hearing, the industry said.

'On January 25th, we registered an application with the district police for investigation and investigation of the incident of theft. However, the investigation process did not go ahead," Hetaunda Cement Industry Board Chairman Narendra Bhandari said that despite repeated attempts, the police ignored him.

Makwanpur Police Chief Superintendent Bishwaraj Khadka said that despite receiving a letter for investigation, no investigation was done because Kitani was not reported. The industry administration only registered the letter at the district police office. Taketa did not. We are researching many topics daily. Since there was no taketa, we kept quiet as usual," he said. The workers working in the

industry have accused the contractors of stealing the garbage with the help of the then general manager of the industry Vasantraj Pandey and the police. We told the general manager that we should proceed with the action on this matter, but he hesitated. Later, he went to Kathmandu saying that his employment period was short,' said a labor leader working in the industry. According to him, although the police are fully aware of the theft of garbage, they have not proceeded with the investigation process.

'Distortion has grown in the industry'

It has been found that distortion is distortion in the government-owned industry. Labor organizations active in the industry have alleged that the coal required for the industry was purchased at twice the market price. They expressed their concern about favoritism in the industry and drew the attention of the concerned authorities.

Ropeway worth around 15 million rupees was sold for 40 million rupees, raw materials including coal were purchased at twice the market price, they alleged that the entire amount was paid against the rules without crushing the old stone of Okhare mine.

According to Kumar Khatiwada, President of Sagra Udyog Trade Union, the President of Sagra Udyog Trade Union has made an illegal decision to pay for coal and other raw materials at high prices, although the management proceeded with the auction process through tender based on the recommendation to sell the cement industry's ropeway and relocate the old machinery.

He said that due to the purchase of raw materials such as coal at a high price, the cost of cement per bag increased and the industry suffered a loss and the coal should be supplied in 2/3 months, so the contract was made for 3/4 years. Nema Dimdung, president of All Nepal Industrial Workers Union, said that although a complaint was registered at Makwanpur District Police Office regarding the theft of dumpers and transformers, no action was taken. He said that even the industry administration has not given any answer in this regard.

According to Vishal Nepal, President of Nepal Factory Workers Union, 193 employees are working in Hetaunda Cement Industry. Apart from this, there are around 150 more employees as daily wage earners and security personnel. Employees have not received salary since February. Since August, the funds of the Provident Fund and Citizen Investment Fund have been stopped. Nepal said that about 50 million rupees and 20 million rupees for daily wages are yet to be paid to the employees of the industry alone. Although cement production is going on in Hetaunda Cement Industry, clinker production has stopped. Due to general disputes between the management and the employees trade union, the sale has also been closed for a few days.
