Kantilokpath, the road connecting Hetaunda-Kathmandu, has been completely closed for four days from today, Wednesday. The road has been closed for four days due to the connection of the under-construction bailey bridge to the Bagmati River in Baguwa under Kantilok Path.
Makwanpur district administration office has issued a notification and informed that the road will be completely closed from Baisakh 21st to 24th.
Assistant Chief District Officer Rajendra Prasad Kandel has asked the vehicles plying between Hetaunda-Kathmandu and Kathmandu-Hetaunda to use alternative roads when the road is closed.
Kulekhani-Kalanki-Humane or Kulekhani-Sisneri-Pharping road can be used as an alternative road to Kantilokpath. Bhimfedi Rural Municipality-8 of Makwanpur and Bagmati Rural Municipality-2 of Lalitpur, both sections of the Bagmati river bridge at Waguwa were swept away by the surge on October 11 and 12.
The part was washed away on both sides of the bridge. Kantilokpath was made into an access road of clay and sand bridges and brought into operation. The access road was also washed away by floods many times and the vehicles were getting into trouble on the Kantilok path.
