An auto driver here has been providing free services to cancer patients. He has been providing free services from Pulchok in Narayangadh to BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital every day from 7 am to 10 am.
26-year-old Akash Aryal, a permanent resident of Thori Rural Municipality-1 in Parsa, has been providing services to cancer patients. As soon as the patients who came from West Nepal by night bus get off the bus, they have to take an auto to reach the cancer hospital.
He has been driving an auto in Bharatpur for the past four years and heard the stories of many cancer patients. Some of the patients used to tell him their pain while riding in the car that they had run out of resources for treatment, had no money to buy medicine, had problems with food and accommodation.
He said, "If I can help with my car, why not?" I started free service.' With this thought, he started free service from the Matatirth Aunsi. He has been providing free services to patients and their relatives from Pulchok to BP Koirala Cancer Hospital every morning from 7 am to 10 am.
He said, "In the morning, many patients come to the hospital to get tokens, that's why I chose this time." He has experience that buses coming from the west carry many patients. That's why he is serving Pulchok as base.
Some of the patients who come down to Narayangadh by bus come looking for his auto, while others he himself goes to the bus and informs them. Even after ten o'clock, there are three people including their relatives who are sick.
Even if he sees old people walking on the road, he takes them to their destination for free. Also, at other times, the young man Aryal drives cars professionally and runs his family with that income.
Aryal, a young man who was preparing to go abroad, decided to do something in his own country after hearing about his uncle's experience abroad. He said, 'I want to stay in my own country and do my work and serve the poor for some time.'
