A car driver was killed when a bus and a car collided at Jamire Chowk in Chitwan Khairhani Municipality-2 on the East-West Mahendra Highway on Thursday night. The deceased is 42-year-old Pradeep Timilsina of Khairhani-8, Chitwan District Police Office Spokesperson Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ravindra Khanal informed.

The police said that around 2:00 PM, an electric (EV) car of Bagmati Province No. 01-030 Ch 1157 driven by Timilsina collided with a passenger bus of Bagmati Province No. 01-006 Ch 7023 . The bus was going from Udaipur to Kathmandu and the car was coming from the opposite direction. Timilsina, the car driver who was seriously injured after colliding with the bus, was admitted to the Chitwan Medical College (CMC) teaching hospital in Bharatpur for treatment.

DSP Khanal said that Timilsina was declared dead by the doctor at five minutes past three o'clock in the morning during the treatment. Both the car and the bus driver who collided are under the control of the police .

There has been an increase in motorcycle and small vehicle accidents on the highways and internal roads of Chitwan for the past few days. In order to reduce this, the police has intensified the investigation and started a campaign to warn the drivers.
