One person has died due to lightning in Chitwan. According to the Chitwan District Police Office, 51-year-old Biru Chepang of Ichchakamana Rural Municipality-1 Kyangsirang, a hilly part of the district, died due to lightning.

Yesterday Wednesday  Biru was walking with his nephew Dil Bahadur Chepang in the middle of the day when lightning struck him on the way.

DSP Rabindra Khanal, spokesperson of Chitwan District Police Office, said that Biru died on the spot due to lightning. Dil Bahadur Chepang, who was with him, was slightly injured.

The police arrived at the scene, which is 45 kilometers east-south from Muglin, at nine o'clock last night.

DSP Khana has informed that the body was brought to Bharatpur Hospital around three o'clock this morning for postmortem.
