One person died in motorcycle and scooter accidents at eight places from Saturday noon to early Sunday morning in different places of the district. The Chitwan police informed that in four out of the eight accidents, the motorcycle went out of control.
According to Chitwan District Police Office spokesperson Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Rabindra Khanal, 55-year-old Gam Bahadur Kunwar of Parsa Thori Rural Municipality-1 died in a motorcycle accident. DSP Khanal said that the motorcycle No. 03-003 P 2076 driven by Kunwar, who was returning from Bharatpur on special duty, went out of control at 12:40 PM on Saturday and hit a pole on the side of Bharatpur Municipal Corporation-14 Namaste Chowk. DSP Khanal informed that Kunwar, who was severely injured, died at around 2:45 pm while undergoing treatment at the government hospital in Bharatpur.
According to DSP Khanal, around 2:30 last night, a motorcycle numbered BA 06-005 P 0132 also overturned at Narayangadh Lions Chowk. When the motorcycle overturned, the driver Prashant Ghatane, 30, of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-23, sustained injuries on his left hand and left leg. DSP Khanal said that his condition is moderate.
In Bharatpur-25 Baskattha, a motorcycle bearing the number 3-03-001 P 9202 was reported by the Chitwan Police to be uncontrollable at 5:30 this Sunday morning. The name and address of the injured motorcyclist, who is in moderate condition, has not been disclosed.
Similarly, last Saturday at 8 o'clock in the night in Ratnanagar Municipality-8 Chitrasari, a motorcycle bearing number BA 06-003 P 3837 also overturned uncontrolled, said DSP Khanal. The driver of the motorcycle, Ekin Raut of Ratnanagar-9, has injuries on his head and face. His condition is moderate.
Saturday evening at 8:30 p.m. Chitwan police said that a motorcycle with number 2-03-017 P 4895 hit a pedestrian in Rapti Municipality-4. Pedestrian Rajan Pudasaini of Rapti-5 and motorcyclist Ramesh Mahato of Khairhani Municipality-6 are in moderate condition.
Similarly, at 6:30 pm yesterday, a motorcycle numbered Na 43 P 8191 got tangled in the Internet wire at Bharatpur Metropolitan City-11 Vojad Chowk. Motorcyclist Vishal Gurung of Bhojad Ghar suffered neck injuries and his condition is moderate.
Yesterday evening around 7:50 p.m., a motorcycle numbered Ba 52 P 7231 driven by Indian citizen Jaspal Sahni, 27 years old, living in Bharatpur Metropolitan Municipality-5 collided with a Magic Van numbered Na 1 J 8730 in Ratnanagar Municipality-3. Chitwan police said that the condition of the injured Sahani is moderate.
Yesterday Saturday at one o'clock in the afternoon in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-1 Harihar Marg, Chitwan police informed that an electric scooter with number Ba P 6-003 P 9621 hit the three-year-old daughter of Kavita Sunuwar, who lives in Harihar Marg in Butwal. DSP Ravindra Khanal said that the condition of the girl who suffered head injuries is moderate.
