After 15 days, the Tatopani crossing was stopped due to the flooding of the Kodari highway, the international trade route connecting China from the district.

According to Amit Shrestha, head of the Charikot road division office, containers and other vehicles have started to move as usual from Friday after rebuilding the flooded road in the Koplan section of Bahrbise-Tatopani road section (26 km). 

15 days ago in Bhotekosi Rural Municipality-2 Koplang, the checkpoint was closed due to the blocked road since 15 feet flooded. He said that this road was closed for 10 days till 3rd of June for reconstruction and it was operational on Friday. "After a long reconstruction work, the road was finally put into operation on Friday, the rain created a problem," he said. 

More work is being done on the plum slope from the Bhotekosi river under the road. Shiv Khimti and TPS JV were entrusted with this work. Since there is no other alternative way to go to customs there, hundreds of containers carrying millions of stored goods have left for customs from Leaping Bazar. There were 40 containers carrying apples and garlic, more than 400 electric vehicles. As the roads damaged by earthquakes and floods are dilapidated every day before the monsoon, there is a dire situation among the locals. Chief District Officer of Sindhupalchok Kiran Thapa said that since there is no alternative route to connect Bahrbise and Kathmandu, the road had to be closed and the road reconstructed and the road was finally opened.
