International Educational Conference has started in Hetaunda. Prada Devaraj Adhikari, President of the University Grants Commission, while inaugurating the conference, said that it is a commendable act for the community campus to hold an international level conference.
He mentioned that the University Grants Commission is supporting community campuses all over the country, "currently there are less than 100 students in 178 community campuses in the country. The classrooms of the campus are empty because there are no students. He emphasized that education should be provided to the students who have acquired university level education in such a way as to ensure their successful future. At the
conference, UNICEF representative Thakur Dhakal said that investment in children and youth is important. He said that university level education is not only for jobs and employment but also useful for justice, research and social change. Former Chief Minister Dormani Paudel, Head of Hetaunda Sub-Metropolitan Municipality Meenakumari Lama, Head of Campus Dr. Yama Bahadur Silwal, member of the Board of Directors Ashok Shakya spoke in the program chaired by Anant Prasad Paudel, President of the Campus Management Committee.
More than one hundred delegates are participating in the three-day conference organized by Makwanpur Multipurpose Campus. More than 60 research studies will be presented by the head of the campus Dr. Silwal said.
