Action against 122 tax payers who did not pay taxes

Internal Revenue Office Makwanpur Hetauda has taken action against 122 taxpayers who have not paid taxes for a long time.

Chief Tax Officer Yuk Prasad Subedi informed that by preparing records of taxpayers who have not paid taxes for a long time despite being registered, the process of legal action has been started for bank account, import export and asset freeze. 

The office said that more than Rs. 600 million dues are yet to be collected from taxpayers who have not paid taxes. 'Despite repeated verbal and correspondence to pay taxes  Chief Tax Officer Subedi said, "We have taken action against the evasive taxpayers. That's why we have initiated the process to freeze the taxpayer's bank account, transactions, real estate and import and export." He said that after proceeding with the legal process, some taxpayers come to pay the tax. 

Similarly, the Internal Revenue Office, Hetauda Makwanpur, has collected revenue of Rs. 82.32 percent of this target has been collected. According to the head of the office, Subedi, during the nine months of the current year 2081/82, the target was to collect revenue of Rs.

Chief Subedi said that in the current year 2081/82, the annual target is to collect Rs 8.44 billion revenue. In that office, there are 34 thousand 229 taxpayers for income tax, 5 thousand 953 for value addition, 1 thousand 611 for excise duty, 713 for withholding and 84 thousand 429 taxpayers for personal. 

According to Chief Subedi, the increase in revenue collection during the current year compared to the six months of the previous financial year is due to the recent increase in economic transactions in the country, ease of credit flow from banks and financial institutions, improvement in tax policy, regular market monitoring, taxpayer education, and strictness in the recovery of remaining arrears.
