16 passengers were injured when a passenger bus met with an accident this morning on the road section of Sunachuri in Manhari Rural Municipality-6 of Makwanpur under the East-West Highway.
According to the district police office, 16 passengers on the bus were injured when the bus No. LU2K 599, which was going from Itahari to Bhairawa, fell down about 10 meters from the road.
Shyamu Aryal, the spokesperson of the said office, informed that the injured were rescued and sent to Chitwan Hospital for treatment. The bus driver, 29-year-old Rakesh Chaudhary, a resident of Colbi Municipality-11, Bara, has been detained and is being investigated, the police said.
Meanwhile, a fire broke out in an Indian-registered vehicle traveling in Nibuwatar, Bhimphedi Rural Municipality-4 of Makwanpur under Kulekhani-Bhimphedi-Kathmandu road section.
He said that there was a fire in a car numbered Jeez 12 DA 9618 going from Kathmandu to Hetauda and the car was completely burnt. There was no human loss from the fire.
