One person died and two others were injured due to lightning in Manhari rural municipality-5 Dillipur of Makwanpur. 28-year-old local Aviral Thing has been identified as the deceased.

Manhari Rural Municipality Chairman Ranjan Kalakheti informed that Thing died on the spot after being struck by lightning along with wind and rain on Sunday afternoon.

He was walking on the road when he was struck by lightning. Two locals were injured due to lightning. Among the injured, 62-year-old Singh Bahadur Gole and 10-year-old Saugat Gole of Manhari 5 were injured.

District Police Office Makwanpur has informed that the condition of both the injured is serious. The injured have been taken to the hospital for treatment. Makwanpur district is at high risk of lightning. Every year ordinary people lose their lives due to lightning.
