Defense Minister Manveer Rai has promised to try to open the road inside the wall of Gokarna forest under the office of Nepal Trust.
After the inspection, he promised to help in all possible ways by removing the wall built there and opening the road.
Gokarneshwar municipality has been demanding to open this road for a long time. If this road is opened, it will be easy for local people to reach Dakshindhoka and Mulpani from Gokarneshwar temple area. Although the wall of Gokarna forest has been broken in many places, the road has been cut by barbed wire.
Due to the fact that the road inside the wall has not been opened, the corridor of Bagmati has not been opened in this area. Jairam Mahat, Chairman of Ward No. 4, said that if this road is opened, the local residents will get relief from the traffic jams in the area above Gokarna Dam.
Shanti Shrestha, a member of the House of Representatives, informed that he had met Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli a month ago, demanding to open this road. Prime Minister Oli has also promised to try to open this road, he said.
Gokarneshwar Municipality Deputy Chief Sannani Lama, Constituent Assembly Member Rameshwar Phuyal, Gokarneshwar Municipality 1 Ward President Dwarika Shrestha, 3 President Murari Prasad Kuinkel, 4 President Mahat, Gonpa-4 Ward Members Gauri Shrestha, Rajesh Shrestha, Gonpa-8 Member Suman Lama and other local residents met the Prime Minister and emphasized that the road should be opened.
