Makwanpur police have arrested 7 teenagers on the charge of gang rape of a girl from Hetaunda.

7 people were arrested on the basis of a complaint filed by a teenage girl who took her to the forest above Vanaskhandi temple located in Hetaunda-2 in the morning of January 6th. Although the incident was said to have taken place on January 6, the 18-year-old girl filed a complaint at Makwanpur District Police Office only on February 21. 

Deputy Superintendent of Police Shyamu Aryal said that 7 people were arrested based on the complaint of the girl. "On the basis of a complaint filed by a teenage girl that she was raped in the forest above the Vanaskhandi temple on January 6th, we have detained 7 people and started investigation," he said. Spokesperson Aryal said that this issue was made public only on Saturday after 7 people were arrested because more teenagers had to be detained for the

investigation. According to Makwanpur District Police Office, further investigation process has been started with permission of 5 days from the Makwanpur district court in the case of coercion against the accused juveniles. This issue was coming up on social networks for a few days as well, saying that 17 youths had forced a girl in the forest of Banskhandi. It is said that only after the video of the

incident was made public, the girl filed a complaint at the district police office. Spokesperson of the District Police Office, Aryal, said that further investigation process has been initiated in this matter. We have started taking statements from those who have been taken into custody regarding the incident. Only after the statement will we know how many people were involved. There is talk that others may also be involved," he said.

According to police sources, both the arrested youth and Johari Dayeki are students of Makwanpur Multipurpose Campus. It is understood that there are ten plus two female graduates and male students.
