The construction of the bridge connecting Kavrepalanchok and Hetauda of Makwanpur, the capital of Bagmati province, has not been completed even eight years after the contract was signed. A contract was awarded to construct the bridge on the Bagmati River at Sikredovan in Khanikhola Rural Municipality-5 of Kavrepalanchok and Bagmati Rural Municipality-5 of Makwanpur.

Although there is a contract to complete the construction in two years, the bridge has not yet been constructed. After Mahadev-Shikhar-Tamakoshi-JV, which had taken the contract for the construction of the bridge, did not complete the work on time, the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure in Barsheni Province has been asking for help. For the construction of the bridge, the contract was signed for 116 million 65 million excluding VAT. 

Kanchhalal Zimba, Chairman of Mahabharata Rural Municipality, said that the people of Khanikhola and Mahabharata Rural Municipality had to suffer to travel to Hetauda, ​​the state capital, due to the non-construction of the bridge contracted by the then District Development Committee office Makwanpur in the financial year 2073/074. 

So far, the raising of pillars, the 'piling' in the middle of the river and the piling of pillars towards Kavrepalanchok have been completed. The construction company has been claiming that 30 percent of the physical work has been completed so far. 

'In two hours, the center of Khanikhola can be reached from Taldhunga to the provincial capital, Hetauda, ​​so it would be very easy if a bridge was built here,' said local resident Ram Prasad Timalsina. Construction businessman Khadg Gopali said that there was some delay in building a road for the transport of materials because the contract for the construction of the bridge was placed in a place where there is no road.
