Dairy farmers have complained of not getting the price of milk fixed by the government. After the arrival of dairy products from the Indian border area, the milk produced here has not been able to get the price along with the market. They say that private dairies are taking milk at a low price.

Farmers say that they are forced to sell milk cheaply due to lack of alternatives. Kishore Bagal, President of Chitwan District Milk Producers' Cooperative Association informed that since the state has fixed the price of milk with four fat and eight SNF at 65 per liter apart from the office operating price, they will reduce this price by 3.

He said, 'If the import of milk is not stopped, they threaten not to take the milk  They have reduced the price.' Now, when milk and dairy products are imported, Nepali farmers are in trouble because they are getting cheap. He said that even though more than 40 large milk producing companies of the country brought milk from one hundred and fifteen milk producing cooperatives in the district, they were forced to sell milk at less than the price set by the state.  350,000 liters of milk is being produced daily in

district. Out of which 150,000 liters of milk is consumed by industries outside the district. He said that farmers who have not been paid for milk for the past 6 months will not come to collect milk from tomorrow if they do not get milk at the price they told.

He says that farmers are afraid of not coming to collect milk when they ask for payment. Now the farmers of the district have more than 800 million  They have not received payment. Since August, dairy farmers have not received payment from the Dairy Development Institute and private companies. He said that the

institute's payment of 35 crores is yet to be made. There are more than 40,000 dairy farmers in the district. Farmers are worried because the state is not interested in solving their problems.
