Eight people were injured in a road accident that took place this afternoon in Sunkoshi rural municipality-5 Mulkot of Sindhuli under the BP highway.

M.P. going to Kathmandu from Jhapa. Chief Superintendent of Police of District Police Office Sindhuli Govindraj Kafle informed that the electric vehicle number 02-001 J 006 went out of control due to high speed and hit the road side divider.

Among those injured in the accident are 52-year-old Bishnumaya Lalchan of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-16, 56-year-old Yamakumari Hirachan, 58-year-old Padamkumari Juwarchan, 30-year-old Hanani Juwarchan, 16-year-old Hasmi Juwarchan, 62-year-old Janaklal Hirachan, 56-year-old Shaktilal Juwarchan and 19-year-old co-driver Nishan Tamang of Kamalamai Municipality-7 of Sindhuli. 

According to Police Superintendent Kafle, the condition of the injured is out of danger. They have been sent to Dhulikhel Hospital for further treatment. The driver, 24-year-old Sujan Bal, a resident of Kamalamai Municipality-7, Sindhuli, Rampur, is safe.

Based on the preliminary investigation of the incident, Superintendent of Police Kafle said that the vehicle was speeding and because of that the accident could have been uncontrolled. According to the police, the driver has been detained and is being investigated.
