Hetauda cement industry in crisis

Due to the closure of Hetauda cement industry for a long time, the financial crisis is deepening. Because of this, cement production is in confusion.

The industry management had stopped the cement production from last October 15, saying that there is a need to repair various equipment of the industry. Although they said that they will start production from the first week of last December after repairing the equipment, the industry administration said that they could not start the production because the repair work of the equipment has not been completed.

'Equipment repair is one part of not being able to start production, but that alone does not stop production,' said Hareram Acharya, head of administration and spokesman of Hetouda Cement Industry, 'due to increasing financial problems, the confusion about when to start production has increased.'

'Now the production is stopped, but there are regular expenses,' said Acharya, the head of administration of Hetaunda Cement Industry.

According to him, there is a problem of the raw materials required by the industry for the immediate operation of the industry. "If the industry operates daily, at least 120 tons of raw material coal will be required daily," he said, "but even that is not available and there is no possibility of coal coming immediately because the old payment for coal has not been made."

This industry was established in 2033 at Lamsure of Hetauda and started producing cement from 2043. The technician says that now the equipment is old and not in a condition to produce properly.

The Hetauda Cement Industry which has been dealing with one problem after another started the production of cement from the third week of August 2081. The industry had produced 65 thousand sacks of cement during this period. The industry, which has the capacity to produce 16,000 sacks of cement per day, has collapsed due to financial problems.
