A tiger has created terror in Manhari Rural Municipality-5 located in the western area of Makwanpur. A tiger seen in Basantpur area on Sunday evening has killed an old woman and more than half a dozen goats.
According to District Police Office Makwanpur Spokesperson and Deputy Superintendent of Police Shyamu Aryal, 72-year-old Kanchimaya Rumba was attacked by a tiger while going to the side of the field to cut grass. Rumba, who had gone to cut grass, did not return home for a long time, and the body was found. 'The tiger must have carried Kanchimaya,' said Dipendra Adhikari, president of Manhari-5 ward. It is assumed that the tiger left the body and ran away after seeing the crowd. The body of Rumba was found with the meat of the head and thigh being torn off by the tiger. The incident site is 100 meters west from the office of Manhari rural municipality-5.
The same tiger killed 7 goats in Vasantpur on Monday morning around 5:30 am. A tiger killed a goat kept in a cage next to the house of local Surya Bahadur Moktan. 'Suddenly the goat bleated in a different way. When he went to see if his leg got stuck somewhere, he saw that the tiger was killing a goat inside the cage,' he said.
Manhari Parsa National Park and Chitwan National Park are located as an intermediate area. Human settlements are highly vulnerable to wild animal attacks. Now, to control the tiger, local, police, Parsa and Chitwan National Park teams have reached the spot with elephants.
Some time ago, Manhari was in the limelight due to the incident where a sick tiger was attacked and killed by a buffalo. Every year the local people are frightened by the increasing number of wild animal attacks.
