Thankot-Chitlang road opening in morning and evening

Thankot-Chitlang Road (Ganeshaman Road), a short distance route connecting Makwanpur and Kathmandu, has been opened only in the morning and evening hours. Road Division Office Kathmandu had completely closed the road for a month.

The road was opened only in the morning and evening after protests from the citizen level saying that the road was closed without an alternative, ignoring the problems of the local residents.

The Acting Ward President of Thaha Municipality-9 Ramakrishna Kapali said that in view of the inconvenience caused to the passengers when the road is completely closed, arrangements have been made to partially operate vehicles in collaboration with the Road Division Office. According to him, the Thankot-Chitlang road will be closed from 8 am to 4 pm during the upgradation and vehicles will be allowed to operate at other times.

Ward office has written to Chandragiri Municipality-4 office, Police Checkpost, Chandragiri and Area Police Office, Chitlang for necessary support and coordination. President of Thaha Municipality-10, Deepak Gopali, said that there was an agreement between the delegation that went to the Road Division Office, Kathmandu and the Ward President, that vehicles should enter before 9 am and after 4 pm.

The road division office Kathmandu said that the road will be completely closed from Panighat to Chandragiri Bhanjyangkhand from Sunday 7th of January to the next 6th of January .
