The senior citizens of Banepa municipality of Kavre district have been honored. During a program on Wednesday, 93 senior citizens in the age group of 82 to 83 from Ward No. 1 to 14 of the municipality were honored.
Chief Shanti Ratna Shakya, Deputy Chief Bimala Sapkota Dahal of Banepa Municipality distributed food and vinegar, Tanna and food items to the awardees.
Honoring the senior citizens, Mayor Shakya said, 'Senior citizens are the history of the city,' he said, 'to protect it, the municipality is preparing a program targeted at senior citizens. There is a plan of the municipality to collect information and keep records.' Deputy Chief Sapkota said .
Bijaya Subedi, Head of Women, Children and Senior Citizens Branch of Banepa Municipality, said that 93 people were honored on Wednesday and those who missed the honor will also be honoured.
