Wagmati state government has split the ministry. In order to assign responsibility to Madhu Shrestha, who is a non-departmental minister, the government led by Bahadur Singh Lama has divided the ministry.

The meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Tuesday separated the Cooperatives from the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Cooperatives and created a new ministry. Now the Ministry of Cooperatives and Poverty Control has become a new ministry in Wagmati Province. It is understood that the responsibility of this ministry will be given to Shrestha. The number of ministries in Wagmati has reached 14.

According to the spokesperson of the government and Minister of Internal Affairs and Law, Surajchandra Lamichhane, the meeting of the Council of Ministers did not give him the responsibility and he said that the responsibility will be assigned soon. Even after 111 days of taking over the leadership of the government, the government was forced to split the ministries after the Chief Minister Lama was criticized everywhere for keeping the ministers unemployed. Shrestha took oath on July 9 along with Chief Minister Lama. He has been a non-departmental minister so far. Shrestha is a Nepali Congress MP.

There was a dispute between the ruling Sahayatri party Congress-UML for a long time regarding the division of ministries. Although Chief Minister Lama prepared to divide the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure, it was not possible due to UML's obstruction.
