Preparations for celebrating Chhath festival at Raptithat located in Hetounda sub-metropolitan city-1 have reached the final stage. The Chhath Puja Ceremony Committee has informed Raptitat that the Chhath Puja Ceremony Committee has done the work of cleaning, hanging pandals, etc.

A 620 feet long pandal has been erected to celebrate the Chhath festival by offering Argh to the setting sun on Thursday. "This year, the pandal is about 100 feet longer than last year," said Ravi Gupta, the coordinator of the Chhath Puja Committee - The pandal on the beach has the capacity to accommodate more than 700 people. The devotees will stay awake under the same pandal and worship all night on Thursday. During the Chhath festival, the number of people fasting and observing is usually in thousands.  Organizers claim that more than 60,000 people participated last year. They expect more participants this year than last year. 

The Chhath festival that connects Terai/Madhesh, hills and mountains is now a bridge. Gupta, the coordinator of the committee, said, 'This festival has progressed by including all communities.' 

The number of people celebrating Chhath Parva is increasing every year in Hetaunda. Most of the people who live here are from Madhes or the hills and reach Rapti on the day of Chhath Parva. Many devotees worshiping and worshiping Suryadev are from Pahadiya. Sushil Sinorio Baniyan said that although Chhath Parva is celebrated especially by Terai people, both Terai and Pahari communities in Hetounda have been celebrating it with devotion. 

On Thursday, after offering argha to the setting sun, they worship Chathimai all night under the pandal and today they offer argha to the rising sun in the morning. Under the pandal, more than 700 devotees worship and pray to Suryadev throughout the night and worship Chathimai. 

From Buddhachowk in Hetaunda to Raptithat by lighting the right and left lights of the road  Shimmer is made . On the first day of this festival, which is celebrated with integrity, the fasting women perform self-purification on Sunday. They don't even eat garlic and onions, they eat pure food. It is called 'Hayakhaya'.

On the second day, on Monday, fasting all day, cooking kheer for worship in a new clay oven in the evening and after offering the same kheer to the deity of the house, distribute it as prasad among the family members and continue the fast by taking it as prasad. 

On the third day of the festival, offering argha to the setting sun and on the fourth day to the rising sun, this four-day festival is duly completed. 

In the main feature of this festival, the festival is celebrated by jointly worshiping the powerful Mother Chhath and the Sun God who illuminates the world. There is a popular belief that if you fast during the Chhath festival, you will get rid of sorrow and poverty. It is believed that if you fast on this festival, you will get children, disease diagnosis and family well-being.
