Born in Darjeeling, India, Nirkala Sharma came to Nepal with her father in search of ancestral roots. After completing her schooling, she reached Kathmandu and took higher education even though her body did not support her. After that she chose teaching profession and moved to Chitwan. The same Nirkala, after 25 years in the education sector of Chitwan, came to take her last breath on this soil last Saturday.

She was affected by the disease at a young age and even after the treatment, she looked physically weak . People who worked with Nirkala who lived for 91 years say that despite her physical disability, she devoted herself continuously to education and social fields without weakening her morale. 

After retiring from the teaching profession, she opened an organization called Ashay Vridh Kalyan Samaj in Ratnanagar Municipality-12 Amilia of Chitwan and ran an old age home. Contemporaries say that Nirkala, who spent a long time of her life in Chitwan, is the epitome of love and harmony.

After the daughter's condition improved, the parents took her on a pilgrimage. After coming back, her father's friends started saying that her daughter should be educated. Nirkala's mind is sharp.
