Due to incessant rains on 11th and 12th of October, the flood in Wagmati River has caused great damage to Mandu Hydro Power. Bhimfedi Rural Municipality-8 Bagmati Dobhan, which is producing electricity by having a production house, has damaged the headwall, power house, penstock pipe and electricity tower of Mandu Hydro Power.

Sundar Shrestha, chief operating officer, said that the flood of Vagmati, which has been producing 22 megawatts of electricity since 2075, caused damage of more than 1 billion. "The flood in Wagmati caused unimaginable damage to hydropower," he said.

The landslide has damaged the highway from Kathmandu to Sisneri, the flood has washed away the market of Sisneri and to reach the said power house, which is 8 km away from Sisneri, you have to go through Sisneri. The flood has also damaged the highway. The flood in Wagmati river  Out of 600 meters of penstock, 100 meters of penstock pipe has been damaged.

Director Shrestha said that the 2,424 meter long main tunnel may have been damaged. "You will know only after drying the water," he said. Electricity and telephone services are currently interrupted in the area due to the floods  . The operators said that it will take at least 7-8 months to bring the hydro power damaged by flood into operation.  

The water of the Bagmati river that flows from Kathmandu collecting garbage has been generating electricity from the hydroelectric house located in Bagarwesi of Ipapanchkanya, Bhimfedi Rural Municipality-8 of Makwanpur. Electricity was produced from the water of Bagmati with the joint investment of the private sector Mandu Hydro Power Company and the Chinese company. 

Mandu Hydro Power Company's construction of Bagmati Small Hydropower Project with an investment of four billion from June 2072  had started  . After making a 10 to 13 meter high dam in Ipapanchkanya Dovan, Bagmati and Koga water is being transported to the power house at Bagarwensi in Ipapanchkanya through a tunnel to generate electricity.
