The physical structures built in Geta of Kailali with a 600-bed hospital for the purpose of teaching medical education at a cost of around 7 billion have started to fall into disrepair.

In 2077/78, 28 state-of-the-art buildings with facilities have been constructed for hospital operation in Geta. But due to lack of operation and maintenance, the infrastructure has been stalled for four years and is becoming dilapidated.

According to Hemraj Pujara, the former executive director of the then Geta Medical College Infrastructure Development Committee, the infrastructure was prepared in Geta by spending more than 6.68 billion. Committee engineer Pawan Rawal said that 28 buildings have been locked since June 2078. He said that some buildings were handed over in February 2077. "Due to the lack of maintenance and operation for a long time, the buildings and the goods kept in the rooms need to be repaired to bring them back to use," said Engineer Rawal.

The hospital has been without a chief for about one and a half months. Dr. who was appointed director of Geta Hospital on November 23. After Ashok Sripaili resigned from the post in the second week of January in three months, Geta Hospital became headless. The ministry has not appointed a new director. Due to the absence of a chief, the administrative and management functions of Geta are currently at a standstill, the hospital staff said. According to the information officer of the hospital, Nainsingh Karki, the Ministry of Health and Population had fixed 141 vacancies in the name of Geta Hospital on 19th June 2080 with temporary approval of 50 beds. OPD service was started in the hospital from 1st October 2080 . According to the hospital, 92 people are currently employed. Among them, 62 employees of various levels, including dental surgeon, MDGP, orthopedic specialist doctor, are from contract service . Information officer Karki said that contract employees will be appointed for 6/6 months.

'The extension of their term has not been decided since January,' Information Officer Karki said, 'Since there is no head of the office and the extension is not certain, the hospital has also said that everyone's salary has been stopped since January . The number of doctors on permanent posts is 8.' 

Information officer Karki said that the hospital administration and management work is often halted due to lack of office chief. "The state of budget implementation is at a standstill". 42 crore more budget in the current financial year. The expenses are almost zero and the situation is going to freeze," said Karki, "It hurts my heart to think about not only the hospital staff but also the local residents." OPD services alone cannot attract patients . Physician management is necessary for emergency room operation. "Currently, since there is no head of the office, the pharmacy is running out of medicines and there is also work to be done to evaluate and negotiate tenders," said hospital officer Siddharaj Bhatt. 

currently has OPD, gynecology surgery, orthopedic surgery, general surgery services, laboratory, echo, x-ray, ecg, ultrasound . According to the hospital, mammography (breast cancer detection), endoscopy services are available. ``There are 50 to 80 patients every day,'' Information Officer Karki said, ``From this year's budget, it was possible to expand the service facilities by spending the budget received on the works such as laboratory expansion, CT scan machine and other necessary equipment, and central connection.'' 22 under the Ministry of Education are in a standstill. Buildings with facilities have been constructed for the accommodation of doctors. But because they are not owned by the hospital, those buildings are abandoned,'' Karki, the information officer of the hospital, said. Unnecessary expenses are being spent on doctor's accommodation.

The Ministry of Education has handed over only 6 buildings to the hospital, including Kuruwa House, Hospital Building, Oxygen Plant Building, and Mortuary. According to an official of the Geta Medical College Infrastructure Development Committee at the time, there seems to be a conflict between the officials of the Ministry of Health and Population and the Ministry of Education regarding the ownership of Geta. That is the reason why the current situation has arisen, the officials pointed out.  The state of luxurious buildings that have been unused for a long time is intriguing. The goods placed inside the building have started to become dilapidated. Furniture, podium, desk, bench, whiteboard are ready inside the building made for teaching medical education. AC, fan are installed . Parquet has also been done on the floor . But due to lack of use, the furniture and parquet inside those rooms have started to get dirty and dirty. There is no address for AC and fan not working. The ministry has not assigned any staff for building maintenance.

Some buildings have started to crack due to lack of protection and maintenance. Most of them have faded color. Windows and doors have been damaged in some buildings due to rain and wind. There is no building that is not full of spider webs. Weeds and butane bushes have formed around the outside of the building . Weeds have grown and the blocks planted in the yard have become colorful . 

"Now the materials prepared there might not be useful," said Hemraj Pujara, director of the then Geta Medical College Infrastructure Development Committee.

Since they have been unused for a long time, the structure and accessories are now being used. The then engineer Pawan Rawal, who was involved in the construction work that needed maintenance, said. 'Had it been put into use immediately, there would have been no need to spend on maintenance,' he said, 'now it seems that a large budget will be spent on cleaning and maintenance.' The bill was passed by the National Assembly and is currently pending in the House of Representatives. Health and Population Minister Pradeep Paudel, who inspected Geta last November, indicated that there is no immediate situation to establish a university in Geta.
