General mismatch, mental stress and lack of finances have become factors in many cases of murder. Migration from hilly districts is increasing . As there are no close neighbors and relatives in village houses, murders and crimes have increased. As children who can work have left home for employment, the elderly in the village are becoming unsafe. Pyuthan police chief Dipesh Basyal said that the security challenge is increasing. "Recently, people have started to feel unsafe from their families and society," he said, "This is also a serious challenge for society."

57 people have been killed in Lumbini in the last six months. Among them, 14 people were killed from the family. In 6 months, 788 cases have been registered in Lumbini province alone in incidents such as murder, extortion, kidnapping and killing industry, robbery.

Lumbini Province Police Chief DIG Dan Bahadur Karki says that the increasing materialism, indulgence and family break-up in the society are increasing the criminal activities recently. He said that due to disharmony within the family, lack of finances, appearance of others in the society, misuse of social media and mutual discord, the crime incidence graph is increasing.

"Mainly, social deviation, family disintegration, appearance of others in society and use of various social networks seem to increase criminal activities and criminal mentality," he said, "Drug addiction, looking at or seeing on social media, and even in the name of property in the family, there have been incidents of fate."

Even as young family members leave home for migration and employment, fragmentation in society is increasing . "Nepali society seems to be moving towards family disintegration," said Karki, "Family discord, domestic violence, child marriage, beatings, foreign affairs, the influence of the western country, 'living together', adultery have also increased crime."

Ward president of Mandvi Rural Municipality-2 of Pyuthan, Prakash Wali, says that there are only old people and unemployed people in the village and that is what is increasing the insecurity . "Due to migration, the settlement is very thin, murder, robbery or wrongdoing has increased now," he said, "those who are constantly using mobile phones, watching social media and learning from it, mental problems are increasing in the society, and the crime incidents are increasing."

Advocate Mahendra Pandey says that if the needs and desires of others are not fulfilled in the society, the incidents of crime will increase. "Monitoring the activities of others through various means from social media and when one's wants and needs are not fulfilled, people become aggressive," he said, "from that, frustration increases, thinking and character change, they start looking at others with hostile eyes and eventually get involved in crime." He said that it is important to increase awareness of developing healthy relationships as people's thinking and character change. "It is not the feeling of 'we', but the thinking of 'me and mine' is developing," he said, "it also divides the society, so it is necessary to change it."
