About 40 percent of the total patients coming for treatment are Indians
Birendra Bista, a native of Biratnagar, came to Britain to study medicine in the 1950s. After studying neurology, he realized the need for a neuro hospital in Biratnagar. At that time, even in Kathmandu, treatment for neuro patients had not started.
In the year 2000, he established a neuro hospital in Biratnagar. This hospital has now become a treatment-destination not only for patients from Madhesh and Koshi region, but also for patients from the neighboring state of Bihar in India .

It has become a trusted treatment center for patients from Araria, Supaul, Madhyapura, Saharsha, Purnia, Katihar, Bhagalpur, Kisanganj and other areas of Vihar. Rajesh Bhattarai, operational director of the hospital, said that after eye, Indians come more for neuro-related treatment. "Perhaps Indians wanted to come to our hospital after getting reliable service," said Bhattarai.
New generation in neuro treatment

He then went to Chandigarh, India for post-graduation, where he completed MS General Surgery in three years . After that, he got two years of work experience in Delhi and Noida.
