Singer Prakash Saput has clarified his political journey after not becoming a proportional MP from the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSWP).

On Saturday, he said on social media that although he did not enter parliament, he has no complaints that his objectives in the election field were fulfilled.

Stating that party president Ravi Lamichhane called and informed him, "You have been released," Saput clarified that he no longer wants any government appointment or position. "I will never come to you for my personal interests, do not think of giving me any appointment to address anywhere," he wrote, quoting his reply to Lamichhane.

Stating that he had planned to do policy work in the field of Dalit rights and indigenous culture if he had become an MP, he said that now he will return to the music field completely. Recalling that the artist inside him cried while singing on the streets during the election campaign, Saput wrote, "Now I want to entertain the people with confidence. I just want to be an entertainer, shedding the burden of social and political consciousness carried by my childish mind.'
