The Lumbini provincial level fine art exhibition has started in Butwal from Saturday under the initiative of Nepal Fine Arts Foundation. Chief Minister Chetnarayan Acharya inaugurated the exhibition.

He mentioned that Lumbini province is a fertile land for fine arts and said that a prosperous province can be built by protecting, enhancing and promoting art, culture, language, literature and creativity. It is important to transfer the artwork and skills to the new generation,' he said, 'by making pictures of our heritage and bringing it to the market, income can also be increased.' He said that since art is an invaluable asset of any nation's identity, culture and civilization, such exhibitions will promote the Nepali fine arts sector and stimulate new talent.  

He informed that the government of Lumbini province has started the process of formation of Pragya-Pratishthan for the protection and promotion of literature, language development, culture and history protection and art promotion. According to him, the process of drafting the bill is ongoing.

180 artworks of 123 artists from 12 districts of the province are displayed. Exhibit 

will run till February 14.
