Yuvraj Sir (Lama), the president of Nepal Karate Federation, recently released the two-year progress report of karate. I felt very proud to find myself as the protagonist of those historic achievements. Nepali Karate has achieved great success during this period and the reputation of the country has also increased due to Karate.

I managed to get the country a silver medal from the Hangzhou Asiad held in China in 2023. It was the first major medal won by Nepali karate in Asiad. I consider myself lucky to be such a big success in the country. Only 25 years ago, Nepal won the silver medal in the Asian Games. Taekwondo's Savita Rajbhandari won the individual silver medal at the 1998 Bangkok Asian Games. When I was not even born. Now I feel proud to have achieved that success.

A month before reaching China in Asiad, I managed to win a gold medal in the Asian Citorio Karate Championship in Indonesia. That was my first international participation. I won gold for the country in my first participation. Nepal also won gold for the first time in the Asian Games. It gave me more energy, boosted my confidence. Gurus also encouraged. He kept inspiring us that we can win gold in the Asian Games as well.

I reached Hangzhou with that motivation and confidence. Gave a good performance in the opening games. Results also came. However, in the final, when I had to face an opponent who had won many international medals, I lost my gold in the face of her experience. However, the determination to win that gold remains intact. I am committed to the goal of 'Mission 2026' put forward by the National Sports Council. The 20th Asian Games will be held in Nagoya, Japan in 2026. For that, the council has trained the national team of various sports as Mission 2026.

After winning a medal in Asiad, my identity changed. Not just a karate player. I became known as the player who won the historic silver medal in Asiad. This was not my only achievement. Overall Nepali was karate and sports. The sport of karate itself became a renaissance. Karate was successful in conveying the message that it becomes a sport that makes the history of the country.

After that I got the opportunity to play in many international tournaments. I have been able to get medals in all the competitions I have participated in. Be it the gold at the USA Open Championship in America or the silver at the 20th Asian Senior Karate Championship in Hangzhou. In this too, I have been able to stand up as the first big achievement of a Nepali athlete. Achieving all these achievements in such a short period of time was more than special for me. It is believed that these achievements will have a great meaning for Nepali Karate.

Regular training gets players fired up. Lately, we are also getting the opportunity to play national and international competitions. We are able to improve our performance in one competition after another. Recently, the Karate Federation's training plan and facilities have encouraged the athletes to work hard. It is said that he who works hard can do well. Because of that many players like me are working hard. They are also getting success. We believe that we can bring better results in karate in the future.

Achievement is one place, the worry of preserving it is another big challenge. Whatever I have achieved, karate, supporters or the state expect more from me. That is an opportunity for me, but also a challenge to preserve the achievement. 

I am ready for that. The amount of effort I can put into karate will never decrease. Like I have to dream or plan to win a medal in a big competition like World Championship or Olympics after Asian. I am the first person who should be ready to fulfill that dream. I am the one who works hard. 

But, for that I need confidence and courage. That is convenience. Be it in facility technology or essential materials or regular training. The state cannot interfere with it. 

sometimes tries to distract the mind. I see idols, friends who I know closely, friends with whom I have attended training, senior siblings are migrating abroad. It not only makes the heart sour, but sometimes it also tries to make itself weak. However, I am not at all distracted in front of the goal.

If you look at it from the eyes of the youth, the situation of the country does not look good. If we talk about sports, it is difficult to say that it is in a good condition. Even now, I see in some games, the players are not able to show their abilities without the competition. I see enthusiastic players leaving the playing field because they don't have a good environment. 

The 10th National Sports Tournament can be an example. Thousands of players like me from many sports districts were waiting for the tournament to be held. However, I have seen that they are not only disappointed because they are not on the fixed date, but they are already on the way to escape. National sports is a way for new players to come out. If that path is closed, how can we identify new and better players? If we talk about myself, I am a player who emerged from the ninth national sports. Therefore, national sports can become a big platform for us to find talent. The state must seriously understand that.

There is no shortage of talented players in Nepal even in the midst of such harsh conditions. All sports have equally talented players. I tell them to be patient, work hard or practice their game before they get success. I would like to appeal not to lose that patience. Because we the youth will be the example of the country. should be To date I have not experienced such a shortage. But, I see there are many Erica like me in Nepali sports. If you can encourage them, Nepali sports will achieve great achievements at the international level in the future.

I think that in the past, sports were just an area of ​​interest and prestige. However, we can see that the definition of sports in the world market has become wider. Sports is not just about prestige now. It has become the main pillar of economy, trade, entertainment, mutual relations, pride of the country, diplomacy. 

In Hangzhou, I didn't see a good karate hall or a well-equipped management. The audience that comes there. They saw the support shown to the country. Realized that Asian sports is big business. I thought it was the standard of prosperity. I understand that Pearton is an area with great potential. So they have invested a lot in sports. The state is investing in making players from a young age.

Nepal is not weak either. I saw a glimpse of it in the South Asian Games. However, it was not as big as in the Asian Games. We believe that if we can organize such sports, it will help the country's economy and tourism. When there is a cricket tournament like NPL, players from many countries come and play. Everyone heard that cricket has become a big industry. Every sport has that potential if it can be achieved in addition to organizing a big tournament. Nepalese players also have a lot of potential.

For that, the government and sports bodies must be serious. What is a sports field? Why invest? It is important to understand the subject in depth. Hollow assurances or talk alone will not motivate players in the long run.
