Chinnamasta rural municipality of the district has been declared a child marriage-free municipality. Madhes chief minister Satish Kumar Singh has declared Chinnamasta a child marriage-free municipality in a program organized in the municipality on Sunday.
Chinnamasta is the third municipality in Madhes province where child marriage has been declared free.
"We have sufficiently informed the residents of the municipality about the effects of child marriage and the legal punishment," he said, "in coordination and cooperation with all concerned, the municipality has been declared a child marriage-free municipality."
