From Rajviraj Airport in Saptari, there will be night flights. At present, Buddha Air has been operating one flight daily in the afternoon, but with the preparation of the infrastructure, now Buddha Air will also operate a flight at night.

According to Dhruvraj Shrestha, head of Rajviraj Airport, Rajviraj Airport is ready for night flights in terms of physical infrastructure and technology. Buddha Air has prepared to conduct a test flight on Monday evening for night flights. Federal Government Tourism Minister Badri Pandey and Madhesh Chief Minister Satish Kumar Singh will stay at Rajviraj Airport during the test flight. 

'Rajviraj Airport is ready for night flights in terms of technology and infrastructure,' said Shrestha, the head of the airport, 'today (Monday) evening, the regular flight has been converted into a test flight.' He said that Rajviraj is the 10th airport to have night flights.

Budh Air has been operating daily regular flights at Rajviraj Airport since January 18, 2076. The 72-seater ship of Buddha leaves Rajviraj with passengers daily from Kathmandu in the afternoon and returns to Kathmandu with passengers from here.

Biratnagar airport is 100 km east from Rajviraj airport and Janakpur airport is 100 km west. Due to the difference of hundreds of kilometers between the airports, the air service of Rajviraj Airport is the choice of the passengers around this area.

Shree Airlines started flying five days a week from Rajviraj Airport, which was closed for a long time, from June 10, 2007. But Mr. started flying five days a week and within a few days he cut two days to fly only three days. Shree Airlines stopped flying to Rajviraj after a year after starting the flight only two days a week after three days.

In 2016, within a few days of its inauguration by the then Minister Ganeshman Singh, the flight services at Rajviraj Airport were suspended. Even though ships came to the airport for some time, due to unpaved runway and other technical problems, Rajviraj Airport could not be fully operational.

According to the Rajviraj Airport office, there were flights from here for a few days in 052 but could not operate for many days. Then in the year 2066, the flight from Rajviraj Airport to the hill district was closed again for a few days. In the past, air services were stopped from here due to the unpaved runway. After the preparation of other infrastructures including the paved runway at the Rajviraj Airport at a cost of more than 300 million rupees, the flight has now become regular. The construction of the airport's paved runway was started in October 2073 and finished in April 2075.
