The 'problematic' leopard that has been causing terror in Gulria municipality-4 Indreni village has not been brought under control. For two weeks, the Division Forest Office has kept four 'cages'. 7 cameras have also been installed to study the activity of leopards. However, the daily problematic leopard has not yet been caught in the forest cage.
Although the leopard ate the tail of the goat kept in the cage on Tuesday, it did not fall into the cage. Since leopards started to appear in that area day by day, they are afraid to go to work in the local farms . Locals are panicked after leopards started attacking continuously. The troublesome leopard has already injured two people and is continuously attacking pets including dogs.
Ramkumar Choudhary, Information Officer of the Division Forest Office, said that efforts are ongoing to control the problematic leopard. "The leopard has been caught twice by the camera, it does not fit into the cage," he said.
7-year-old Sirjan Chowdhury of Balapur, Gulria municipality-5, was attacked and injured in broad daylight when he went with his grandmother to the farm in Gulria-4 Indreni tol on March 20. On Chait 27, 65-year-old Bikulal Tharu was injured when a leopard attacked him from behind while harvesting wheat in the field in Indreni village.
