91 drug cases have been registered in Bardia in nine months of the current financial year. These cases are from last July to mid March.
The youth involved in the case registered with the police are between the ages of 19 and 30. Among the cases registered with the police, looking at the statistics of the last three years, drug cases are increasing.
33 in 078/079, 56 in 079/080 and 124 drug cases in 080/081 are registered according to the data of the District Police Office. The involvement of drug users in criminal activities in the district is the highest.
Due to the 83 km open border with India, drugs are easily imported. According to police inspector Bhupendra Shahi, 138 people have been arrested in the drug case so far.
He said, "During this period, 5 kg 824 grams of ganja, 2 kg 116 grams 800 mg hashish, 12 grams 899 mg brown sugar and 136 drug tablets have been recovered."
