Targeting the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) starting from Thursday, the Koshi Province government will provide psychosocial and family counseling services to students throughout the examination period.
According to Krishna Prasad Pokharel, Director of the Provincial Education Development Directorate, Dhankuta under the Ministry of Social Development, arrangements have been made to deploy psychosocial and family counselors at each examination center and the local level has been instructed to make necessary arrangements for this through the District Examination Coordination Committee.
Director Pokharel clarified that the presence of counselors and nurses will be mandatory throughout the examination period, adding that they will remain in centers where school nurses are working and that the local level should make alternative arrangements in places where there are no nurses. In addition, schools have been urged to manage first aid supplies, sanitary pads and other necessary health supplies according to the number of students.
To maintain the fairness of the examination, it has been decided that invigilators, employees and examinees, except for the center head, will not be allowed to take electronic devices including mobile phones and smart watches into the examination center.
80,910 students from Koshi Province will participate in the SEE examination starting from Chaitra 19. 2,099 students will appear in the exam in Taplejung, 2,849 in Panchthar, 3,926 in Ilam, 17,684 in Jhapa, 2,849 in Sankhuwasabha, 1,554 in Tehrathum, 2,636 in Dhankuta, 18,135 in Morang, 13,978 in Sunsari, 2,857 in Khotang, 2,215 in Okhaldhunga and 5,710 in Udayapur.
332 examination centers have been designated across the province for this. 332 center directors, 546 assistant center directors, 463 inspectors and 813 examination assistants will be mobilized to conduct the exam. In addition, a total of 12,349 human resources, including 4,980 security personnel, will be deployed for security, the directorate has stated.
