Power supply to Dhankuta Bazaar, which was disrupted after a storm damaged power lines and transformers on Monday night, has resumed after 48 hours. The lack of power affected the functioning of various government offices, including the district administration, on Wednesday.

Although power supply was restored in Hile, Sidhuwa, Pakhribas, Jorpati, Bhedetar and Mulghat areas of Dhankuta through the relevant feeders since Tuesday evening, the service was disrupted in the main market of the district headquarters.

According to Bijuli Prasad Yadav, Chief of the Nepal Electricity Authority Dhankuta Distribution Center, power was restored by repairing fallen poles, broken wires and damaged transformers.

However, power supply has not yet been regularized even in the areas where it has resumed. He said that there is still a problem with power supply in some places due to tripping. 'Somewhere fuses have blown, somewhere equipment has burned, so it will take time to fully regularize it,' Yadav said.

According to him, technical teams are being deployed at various places to monitor and repair the power supply to prevent short circuits.

Although the power supply has been restored, the services of some internet service providers are still disrupted. Service providers have stated that the internet service will also be repaired and brought back into operation after the power supply stabilizes.
