The process of establishing a blood bank at the District Hospital Dhankuta has been initiated. It has been decided to purchase the necessary equipment for the blood bank to be operated under the management of the Nepal Red Cross Society District Branch Dhankuta.

The meeting of the Blood Bank Procurement Unit Committee held on Sunday decided to purchase the necessary equipment for the operation of the blood bank, informed the coordinator of the committee, Thagendra Prasad Adhikari. According to him, it has been decided to purchase equipment worth 1.65 million rupees for the operation of the blood bank.

Representatives of various government offices and representatives of the concerned bodies participated in the meeting. The committee also decided to proceed with the process by publishing a public notice for the purchase of equipment.

After the establishment of the blood bank at the District Hospital, it is expected that blood transfusion services will be easily available to patients in Dhankuta and surrounding districts. It is believed that this will be of significant help during emergencies and complex treatment.

For the initiative to establish the blood bank, 1.645 million rupees have been collected under the initiative of Rajendra Kumar Raut, Chief Executive Officer of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Secretariat.

Bidur Khawas, a member of the Blood Bank Purchasing Unit Committee and president of the Federation of Nepali Journalists, Dhankuta, said that the process of raising necessary support for the establishment of the blood bank is ongoing.
