Dr. Ram Prasad Pokharel Community Eye Hospital has conducted free eye examinations for senior citizens and students residing at the Vishranti Old Age Home in Mulghat, Dhankuta.

The hospital team also conducted eye examinations for 37 students of the Vishranti Sanskrit Gurukul, which is operating in the premises of the old age home. The hospital has stated that glasses have been distributed to 5 of the students who were examined.

Similarly, 45 senior citizens residing at the Vishranti Old Age Home were also examined. During the examination, 9 senior citizens were found to have cataract problems and have been recommended for surgery. 

Similarly, 180 students of Kaushika Basic School in Mulghat have also undergone eye examinations. According to Dron Prasad Guragain, central spokesperson of Nepal Netra Jyoti Sangh, after the eye examinations of the students, glasses have been distributed to those in need.

Guragain says that the free eye examination program organized targeting senior citizens and students will help in identifying eye-related problems in a timely manner.
