Police have arrested two people with 205 kg of marijuana from the forest in Garjuwa, Sangurigadhi Rural Municipality-7, Dhankuta. A police team deployed on a special tip-off on Tuesday evening found the marijuana hidden in a white plastic bag in a forest area.
Those arrested are 33-year-old Prakash Rai and 34-year-old Ashok Rai of Sangurigadhi Rural Municipality-7, Garjuwa. A total of 205 kg of marijuana was recovered from 10 bags hidden in the forest, informed Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Dhankuta, Sharat Kumar Thapa Chhetri.
The seized marijuana and both the arrested persons have been taken into custody and necessary investigation has been initiated. They are currently being kept at the District Police Office, Dhankuta and further investigation into drug-related offenses is underway, according to the police.
