Nepali Congress Joint General Secretary Dr. Dila Sangraula has made it clear that the Congress will contest the upcoming elections alone without forming an alliance with anyone.

Stating that the coalition politics has not yielded the expected results and has harmed the country, she said that now the Congress will vote only on the tree symbol.

At a press conference organized by the Congress Dhankuta election  propaganda main committee, Sangraula said, 'There is no alternative to making the Congress win to provide stability, good governance and development to the country, now we must vote on the tree.'

She informed that the party has entered the elections with the campaign 'Let's change the Congress, let's change the country' and made public the 10 visions of the Congress. She said that good governance, corruption control, youth-friendly policies, job creation and social justice have been prioritized.

She said that the main agenda of the Congress is to investigate the assets of people who have reached positions of profit, create employment opportunities within the country, accelerate the development of physical infrastructure, empower women and build a prosperous Nepal by focusing on the youth. 'Now the Congress will not ally with anyone in the elections, voting will be done only on the tree symbol of the Congress,' she said, 'Whose policy, whose leadership - our Arjun vision is only the election on Falgun 21.'

Sangraula claimed that factionalism within the party has ended and mentioned that nationalism, democracy and social justice are the main pillars of the Congress. She also informed that Gagan Thapa has been nominated as the candidate for the Prime Minister.

At the program, Central Discipline Department Coordinator, former minister and Constituent Assembly member Taraman Gurung claimed that there was no dispute over candidates within the party and that a large number of new and responsible faces have been given an opportunity this time. According to him, there are 165 Congress candidates across the country, out of which 106 are new faces.

Dhankuta Coordinator of the Publicity Main Committee, Vijay Santoshi Rai, claimed that the Congress can fulfill the desire for development and prosperity by embracing change.
