More than 200 residents of Gokulganga Rural Municipality-2, Ramechhap have received free Ayurvedic health services.
The Ayurveda and Alternative Hospital, Ramechhap, operated under the Bagmati Province Ministry of Health, conducted a one-day free Ayurvedic health treatment camp on Saturday.
The camp, organized under the coordination of Gokulganga Rural Municipality, saw a high number of patients suffering from asthma, joint pain, gastric, cough, allergies and chronic skin diseases, said Dr. Savita Bhandari of the hospital. According to her, locals from Gokulganga Rural Municipality as well as Jiri Municipality of Dolakha also sought services at the camp.
According to Dr. Bhandari, more than 200 patients were examined at the camp. 'The health camp saw a high number of patients suffering from asthma, joint pain, gastric, cough, allergies and chronic skin diseases,' she said.
Deepak Kumar Karki, the head of Ayurveda and Alternative Hospital, Ramechhap, informed that free medicines were distributed to the patients who came to the camp along with the health check-up.
Locals have said that it has become much easier to get services after the health camp was launched in the village. Local Purna Bahadur Karki, who has been suffering from itching for a long time, said that it is a great relief for senior citizens and women who cannot walk to have health services available in the village.
Ayurveda and Alternative Hospital Operation and Management Committee Chairman Nawaraj Pathik said that a camp was also organized in Gokulganga Rural Municipality-2 as per the plan to run health camps in various areas of the district as per the demand of the local level.
According to him, the hospital has not only been running health camps but also conducting door-to-door service in Manthali and surrounding areas on a weekly basis. He said that there is significant participation of locals in this service, which is provided by reaching various toles.
The Ayurveda and Alternative Hospital operating in the district headquarters Manthali has been providing services including patient check-ups, free medicine distribution, pre-operative and panchakarma, physiotherapy, acupuncture, pathology lab, breastfeeding mother program and senior citizen health promotion.
