Volleyball's Aruna Shahi and Vishwas Adhikari have won the Player of the Year awards in the ninth edition of the Pokhara Sports Awards. Among the three nominees, Aruna won the women's player and Biswas won the men's player of the year. On the women's side, Aruna's competitors were Sushmita Thapa Magar of ITF Taekwondo/Muwanthai and Kripa Gurung of fencing. Biswas was behind tennis's Pradeep Khadka and football's Sumit Shrestha.

Player of the year Aruna is the captain of the national women's volleyball team. Born in Myagdi, she made her debut in the national team in 2014 in an international friendly match against Maldives held in Nepal. In the 37-year history of playing international volleyball, the Nepali women's team under his captaincy won against India. Nepal became the runner-up after losing to India in the final. In the Tiger Cup Volleyball, the team led by him, participating from the organizer Tiger Group Pokhara, won the title. In the 8th NVA Cup, she played for Everest Volleyball Club and became the runner-up. She was the marquee player of Chitwan Shakti in the franchise women's volleyball league held for the first time in Nepal last year.

Biswas belongs to Banjhobari of Boudikali Rural Municipality-3 of Nawalrasi (Bardghat Susta East). He made his debut two years ago with the Gandaki state team. He made his debut in national volleyball last year in Sri Lanka through Kava U-20 Volleyball. He is a middle blocker. He was the best male player in the first Sahana Pradhan U-19 Women's and Men's Volleyball Championship. He was a member of the team when Gandaki Province came third in the 34th National Men's Volleyball Tournament. The team he was involved in became the runner-up in the 8th PM Cup Volleyball and the 4th Tiger Cup Volleyball.

The male and female athletes of the year received Telji's electric scooter awards.

Olympian Bhagwati Khatri of Baglung was honored with Lifetime Achievement Award. He was awarded with a silver medal for the shooting. She played in Sydney Olympics in 2000. Since 2005, she has been giving free shooting training to the players.

Rachna Chaudhary was the best in cricket for emerging players. Jit Bahadur Sarki of volleyball and Badal Karki of athletics were nominated in this category. Football coach Rajendra Tamang was chosen as the best. Neeraj Thapa of tennis and Ramesh KC of volleyball were nominated. Myagdi District Volleyball Association received the award for the best sports organization of the year. Journalist Vijay Nepal was selected as the best sports journalist of the year. 35,000 was awarded to the best. The award was organized by Nepal Sports Journalist Forum Gandaki Province.
