The third Ward President's Cup Veteran football tournament organized by Kathmandu Metropolitan City Ward 7 will be held from Thursday. 20 men's teams will compete in the tournament on a knockout basis, according to Vimal Kumar Hoda, chairman of the organizing ward 7.

The winner of the six-a-side competition in the age group above 40 years will receive a prize of Rs 1 lakh and the runner-up will receive a prize of Rs 50,000. 5,000 will be awarded to the best defender, goalkeeper, striker and midfielder.

Ajav Shrestha, the tournament coordinator, said that the tournament, which will be held with the technical support of Charumati Yuva Parivar and Chawhil Sports Club, will cost around 490,000 rupees. The games will be played at the Chawhill Football Field.
