Last week, 37 local traders reached the Taklakot market on the northern border with China. After four years, they reached Taklakot market to do business.


District administration has informed that on 12th of August, 21 men and 16 people went to Taklakot market from Beas with luggage.

Chief District Officer Yagyaraj Joshi said that the local traders of Beyas, who have traditionally been doing business in Taklakot market, went there. They have taken 33 horses, 98 mules and 19 chaurigai/jhupu with them to carry heavy loads.

According to the district administration office, they have gone to Taklakot to do business with household items. With the opening of the Tinker checkpoint, which was closed since the Corona period, 27 traders from Byas Rural Municipality-1 Changaru and Tinker went to Taklakot for the first time on 4th July 2081.

16 quintals of 80 kg of good, 25 quintals of sugar, 42 boxes of salai, 4 quintals of wheat flour and 40 kg of household utensils have been taken for business.

Traders say that the business of Misri, Gud, Phapar flour, Barley, Potato, Mula etc. is good in Taklakot . A distance of 15 km has to be crossed to reach Taklakot from pillar number 1 on the Nepal-China border. China has built a road near Nepal border (within 100 meters distance).
