Five rural municipalities of Palpa have been declared municipalities with full institutional maternity services. According to Palpa Health Office, two municipalities and three rural municipalities are yet to become municipalities with fully institutionalized maternity services.

Last time on Wednesday, the Speaker of Lumbini Province Tularam Ghartimagar presented the certificate to Ribdikot Rural Municipality. Also, District Coordination Committee Chief and District Vaccination Coordination Committee Chairman Tankanath Khanal, Member Secretary and Acting Head of Health Office Tuk Prasad Pokharel presented certificates to the village head, vice president, chief administrative officer, head of health branch declaring that the municipality is a fully institutionalized maternity service. , a rally was held in the presence of representatives of all the eight wards of the rural municipality, employees of health institutions, female health volunteers and others. The awareness rally went from Silangthok to Harthok to the rural municipality. 

On the same occasion, Sunil Adhikari, Head of the Health Branch, said that Ribdikot Rural Municipality was also given a certificate along with the declaration of complete vaccine sustainability. Ward president, head of health branch, women health volunteers were also honored in the announcement program.

Safe delivery services are provided in health institutions located in Khasyuli, Phek, Palungmainadi, Kusumkhola of Ribdikot Rural Municipality. During the period of one year, out of 193 people, 192 people underwent pregnancy tests four times according to the protocol, informed the chief officer of the health branch. Chief Administrative Officer Mani Prasad Khanal said that there is data that 100 percent of pregnant women gave birth in health institutions in the presence of skilled obstetricians.

For the past three years, no woman has given birth at home, on the road or in any other place, said Kanta Adhikari, the village head. Village Chairman Narayan Bahadur Karki said that according to the criteria made by the Lumbini Province Government, the protocol has been completed in accordance with the standards and guidelines for declaring the local level with full institutional services related to Section (5) of Schedule 4. 

It states that at least 90% of pregnant women should be tested four times, 95% of women who have given birth should give birth in a health institution in the presence of skilled obstetricians, there should be zero births at home and 90% should be checked after delivery.

Five rural villages of Palpa along with Ribdikot rural municipality have been declared as municipalities with full institutional maternity services. Earlier, for the first time, Purvkhola rural municipality was declared as a municipality with full institutional maternity services. Then Rambha, Bagnaskali and Mathagadhi Rural Municipality were announced. 

Tansen and Rampur Municipalities as well as Tinau, Rainadevi Chhahara, Nisdi Rural Municipality are yet to have fully institutionalized maternity services, according to Health Office Palpa.
