Construction of a cricket stadium in Syangja has been started in honor of Sandeep Lamichhane, the former captain of the Nepali national cricket team. In honor of cricketer Lamichhane who was born in Arjunchoupari rural municipality-5 Aruchaur of Syangja, the rural municipality has started building a stadium in Thaple of the same ward.

Prakash Tiwari, chairman of the rural municipality, said that the construction of the stadium was started with the help of the locals with the investment and leadership of the rural municipality office. He said that the construction of the public Gaucharan, which is on the top of the hill but level, has been started from the current financial year 2081/82 to make it a cricket ground.

"From the current year, we have started building the stadium with the cost of the municipality and the public donations of the locals", he said, "Now the work has been done to prepare the place for making the field, because of the rain, we have stopped the work for now, after the rain, we will complete the work at a fast pace." He said that the field under construction has been named 'Nineteen O Seven Arena'. The field extends from the middle part in a circle of 45 meters all around. It is being built to meet the standards required for a national level ground.

In order to make pitches on the ground, district, state and central leaders who are related to cricket are working in consultation with experienced people. President Tiwari believes that Sandeep, a successful cricketer who has made his and his country's name known in the country and abroad, was born in this place, along with his respect, it will also play an important role in producing new talents.

"About half an hour away from the cricket ground under construction is the village of Sirubari, which has been recognized as the first community homestay in South Asia", said Tiwari, chairman of the rural municipality, "it seems that cricket and tourism can be taken forward in this area by combining them together." According to Tiwari, a separate place will be made for practice
