Free cataract surgery for 50 people in rural areas

Patients from rural areas who have had cataract problems for years but have not received treatment have been given free surgery. Harihar Adhikari, president of the club, said that 50 people underwent cataract surgery in a camp conducted by the Rotary Club of Kawasoti under the slogan 'Sight for All'.

In the free eye examination conducted in partnership with Vinay Triveni Rural Municipality, 187 out of 938 people were found to have cataract problems. With the help of the rural municipality, the patient who needed immediate surgery was taken to Hetaunda branch of Tilganga Hospital and underwent surgery. The patient was happy to see his eyes years after the surgery.

Earlier, under the Rotary year, 327 people underwent cataract surgery in Kawasoti with the technical support of Tilganga Hospital in November. The Rotary Club of Kawasoti is preparing to perform free surgery on around 500 people from October 27th to 30th.
