The only Bensisahar-Chame road connecting Manang district, which is known as hill district and Himalpari district, will be closed for two days from today. As the road risk is increasing, the road will be closed from 2 pm today to 10 am on Sunday for road maintenance near Nason Rural Municipality-9 Danakyu.

Bensisahar-Chame road will be closed for two days

The District Administration Office Manang has issued a notice saying that the road slope is extremely dangerous due to collapse and there is no alternative road, so the traffic will be completely stopped for that time. Engineer Suman Adhikari of the Dumre Benisihar Chame road planning office said that near Danakyu, the culvert collapsed and stones were thrown out on the road, so they are going to repair it . He said that since there are many problems in the operation of vehicles, even though there will be normal repairs at that place, this road has to be closed because there is no alternative road.

Dhan Bahadur Gurung, chairman of Naso Rural Municipality, informed that there is a high risk of accidents due to dilapidated roads in Danakyu. He said that especially the citizens of his municipality and the residents of Manang are suffering a lot because of that road, but it has not been resolved. After the Kathe bridge at that place was swept away by the flood in June 2077, but the Kathe bridge was put in place again and again, but the risk was increasing, and the Bensisahar Chame road was closed from February 2078 to Chait 5, and a culvert was placed. At this time, Dumre Bensihar Chame Road Planning Office has informed that the road is dilapidated due to falling stones around the culvert and the sloped part.

In accordance with the government's plan to connect Manang to the road network, since 2051, Road Division Office Damauli-Tanahun branch had started the construction of Bensihar Chame road . The Nepali Army constructed the road in 2069 and handed it over to the Road Division Office. Out of 65 km, the said road is 35 km towards Lamjung and 30 km towards Manang.
